## What is MEV?

The term `“Mev Bot”` refers to a variety of different programs which utilize Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) technology to generate income either passively or semi-passively.&#x20;

These programs are often of a high complexity, and for that reason are used only by a select few individuals. As a result, a small group of people have near total control over this market, with individuals such as Jared From Subway and his MEV “Sandwich” Bot passively generating millions of dollars a month.&#x20;

In 2022, it was estimated MEV Bots on the Ethereum Blockchain alone had generated over **675 Million USD in profit within two and a half years.** Jared’s Sandwich Bot alone is estimated to passively generate between 1 and 11 million dollars a month.

## What is FlashMev?

FlashMEV proposes a free to use, publicly available suite of MEV tools, allowing anyone to partake in forms of passive income generation which had previously been closely gated. In doing so, it aims to level the playing field in the spirit of true decentralization.

The FlashMEV initiative is backed by an experienced team of senior blockchain developers, all of whom are committed to the furthering of Decentralized Finance through the improvement and expansion of its suite of publicly available tools.
